We are so blessed to have such an amazing amount of wonderful talent at FUMC . This concert, music and most of all the Message “Carry the Light” was the BEST!!! If you were unable to make it to this awesome the concert , pick up a CD.

Great post. It reminds me of what C.S. Lewis said in Mere Christianity on the same subject:

“Good and evil both increase at compound interest. That is why the little decisions you and I make every day are of such infinite importance. The smallest good act today is the capture of a strategic point from which, a few months later, you may be able to go on to victories you never dreamed of. An apparently trivial indulgence in lust or anger today is the loss of a ridge or railway line or bridgehead from which the enemy may launch an attack otherwise impossible.”

It was a good sermon today. Once it gets posted I have at least one person I am going to share it with. The idea of saying your a victim so your stuck with the way things are will probably really talk to some people.

Mike, you stated that “God’s holiness is a call to war against evil.” Jesus as a man faced Satan’s evil temptations on earth. We face evil temptations too. I think of evil as a test and tempering of our hearts making us worthy to be in His holy presence. Job endured; therefore, with Jesus’ help we can too.

Thank you for your kind words for my friend Bob. I too served with Bob, went on a road trip with him and Paulette, and worked with him on various projects here and in Mexico. Bob had a heart of service and a love of God. I have been blessed through our friendship, and I find peace knowing that he is with him now.
