Your Friday evening message on going to the place we don't want to go, your example of going four hours across Texas to the hospital room of a dying man, and the connection to Jesus' going to the cross were dead on for the Good Friday service. I have to admit that the Good Friday service is my least favorite service, but I go anyway - to remember what Christ did. Another place I hate to go on Good Friday but I go anyway, is watching Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ." I don't enjoy this movie. But I make myself watch it. I usually split it up through the day. It's too much for me to take in one sitting. It makes me realize what a holy, loving, and heroic God went through to bring me to Him. Unlike Jesus' disciples and family on that first Good Friday, I know the story has a wonderful ending. Looking forward to Resurrection Sunday!

Pastor Ramsdell,

This letter came just in time for me. As I work for the Department of Defense we are constantly struggling with wars and threats of war, and we repsond to these things in due process. I am seeing the destruction in the Japans, and as before the destruction that has been and will continue to happen and the question always presented itself; "what is happening?" Thank you for relating your answer so smoothly into God's word and scripture and giving me a concrete message to share with my friends and family that are going through the same mental trials in realtion to this. Our hearts and prayers to all of those lost and hurt in the chaos in Japan.

Much love, your borther,

Thanks so much for this, Mike! Your # 6 is of course very meaningful to us at this time. Plan to share this with the family as we celebrate the New Year today in Finland. Thanks so much for your wise counsel. We love our church family immensely and have missed being there. Disappointed we could not see last Sunday's sermon. In His Love, ~Sherry Brown

Pastor Ramsdell last year i started attending your sunday 930 service with my girlfriend Victoria Rodriguez. I enjoy your teachings. I recently heard you lost your father. I lost mine at the age of 17 and I think about him a lot. Just recently i really started thinking about him for the fact that in a few weeks I am going to be a father too. And truthfully im scared and I wish he was here to give me some advice. I am truely sorry for your loss. I have an idea of how you feel but not completely. I look forward to hearing more of your teachings. Hope you have a great holiday season. God Bless.

Thank you so much for sharing this with us Mike. Your words of love and gratitude for him echo in my heart for my own father. We are so blessed to have earthy father's who guide and care for us just as God care's for each of his children.

Mike I am grateful that we have the opportunity, but really the responsibility , to listen for that "whisper" each and every day. I don't like to acknowledge that there were several years of my life when I didn't believe that to be so. I want to thank you and FUMC for the changes I have experienced in my journey since joining this church. There are so many opportunities to learn, to grow in faith, and to serve. Our family....all of it...have indeed been blessed.

Excellent way of explaining it Mike. It is about answering a call each day to do what God wants you to do that day. If each of us did this with consistancy, what could we each achieve and accomplish for the kingdom?

I think it takes courage to submit, a knowing that I can trust God, and trust in his love. This is difficult for one who was raised knowing a judging God and not hearing enough about the loving Lord God.
