Thanksgiving with my family

[ 0 ] December 1, 2008 |

This week was an eventful week for my family and one that doesn’t happen often, all of us were at our house in Mansfield for Thanksgiving, all 12 of us, the first time we all gathered in our own home (we purchased a house in Mansfield National in the spring).  It was especially significant because Chad, our son in law married to Kelly our youngest, will be heading to Iraq soon, his second tour.  Our son’s wife, Gladys, is also expecting a baby next spring and this last Sunday we baptized Kelly’s new baby girl, Kylie Wynona.  Thanksgiving truly was the word for the day.  God is good and the food was great.  I am also excited about Christmas in the church, “Engaging the Light of Christmas” begins next weekend.  I love the many ways we get to tell the Christmas story and “engage” the good news of Jesus Christ.
